The skin on the scalp is much thicker and it has a much higher pain threshold. Patients describe the process as not painful at all. Using a pain scale, it can be rated between 2-3 out of 10.
SMP is classified and accepted as permanent treatment. Although on each patient, depending on the skin tissue the pigment can slightly fade within the years, similar to tattoo. Following the aftercare instructions strictly will help to keep the best result.
SMP is done to create an illusion of natural hair look. When it is performed by an expert it will mimic the existing hair selected according to the patient’s skin and hair colour.
In most cases, we recommend the hair to be shaved, so that the expert can mimic the existing hair on pigment. However, we understand this can be inconvenient for some people, due to work or personal preferences, in this case we can perform the process without shaving hair.
Can it be performed on grey/ginger hair
Side effects might be seen right away, however most of the patients won’t. Redness, swelling, itchy scalp and dry skin.
SMP typically requires three sessions: 1st Session: It can take 3-4 hours depending on the size of the treatment area 2nd Session: 1 week after the 1st session, it can take up to 3 hrs to increase density 3rd Session: 4 weeks after the 2nd session, it can take up to 2 hrs to perfect the shade and if needed finalise the front line.
Within the 24 h after the treatment, the scalp can be seen red and swollen. However, most of our patients are able to return to work the very next day. Aftercare instructions will be given by the practitioner. It is not recommended to swim right away or at a heavy gym because excessive sweat can cause irritation on the scalp.

No, as we only use a carbon based black pigment which is diluted to match your skin tone.
Everyone is different depending on skin types. Immediately after treatment our technician will clean your treatment and use an anti-redness spray to reduce redness. so you will leave the clinic looking and feeling great. The redness may possibly be with you for a day or two typically.
For best results you would need the treatment to dry heal for 4 days after each treatment. So this would mean avoiding sweat, water and any sorts of creams, lotions etc….
After this period you can slowly increase activity.
We can go through some pictures of hairlines and draw some hairlines on you. When choosing hairlines it is always best to play it safe, not going too low on the first visit. Then on the second visit you would have decided how low you want to go.
This is done according to skin tone and/or remaining hair colour. We have huge experience of a diverse range of clients from all cultures. 1st sessions usually start with a lighter shade and we gradually build up density and darkness as we progress to complete your treatment.
